Help us make Chicago the Global Leader in Advanced ManufacturingRegister online or download the printable PDF form. The Chicago Manufacturing Renaissance Council (CMRC) invites your organization or company to join the partnership of business, labor, government, community, and education leaders. We are committeed to lead the race to the top and establish the Chicago region as the global leader in advanced, high road manufacturing.
"The CMRC is a serious partnership that is focused on creating an industry-driven education pipeline for advanced manufacturing," says Sandra Westlund-Deenihan, president of Quality Float Works and chair of the CMRC's West Suburban Chapter. "It represents our best chance to build a solid foundation for advanced manufacturers for years to come."
Demonstrate your support for advanced manufacturing by joining a network that:
- Unites a diverse group of stakeholders around the most critical policy issues for the manufacturing sector and our economy as a whole.
- Works to solve our workforce challenges by creating a pipeline of skilled workers for this keystone industry.
- Created Austin Polytechnical Academy (APA), a manufacturing-focused pre-engineering high school on Chicago's West Side. Austin Polytech has been named by President Obama as a national model for education.
- Helped create ManufacturingWorks, an employer demand-driven recruitment and training program.
Austin Polytech has a similar partnership structure, which demonstrates the variety of ways our current partners get involved:
- The staff at Goose Island Beer Co. has donated their time to a work-based project to teach students about the beverage manufacturing business. As part of the project, the students came up with their own product idea: Juke, an all-natural fruit juice.
- WaterSaver Faucet Co. has generously offered to match up to $75,000 in contributions for the school's new machine shop. WaterSaver has also donated $10,000 in general support for the school.
- A number of partners have led groups of students on plant tours, taking them behind the scenes of an advanced manufacturing company. Thanks to our partners, every APA student has visited at least one facility.
Partnership benefits:
- Bring your expertise into our initiatve and earn recognition as an active participant in the campaign to establish the Chicago region as the global leader in complex, advanced manufacturing.
- Enjoy free publicity on our website's list of CMRC partners. Exceptional involvement by partners will also be featured in our bimonthly newsletter.
